    Description

    Four (4) scarce early original vintage press photographs show British Prime Minister Sir Neville Chamberlain with European leaders during the signing of the Munich Agreement. Included is a photograph of departing his airplane in London and one of meeting with British royalty.
    These are silver gelatin Type l first generation photographs.
    Back has full caption (see scan).
    These is not a copies or reproduction but  Type 1 first generation photographs developed from the original negative.
    The Munich Agreement was an agreement concluded at Munich on 29 September 1938, by Germany, Great Britain, France and Italy. It provided "cession to Germany of the Sudeten German territory" of Czechoslovakia. Most of Europe celebrated because it prevented the war threatened by Hitler by allowing Germany's annexation of the Sudetenland, a region of western Czechoslovakia inhabited by more than 3 million people, mainly German speakers.
    Photographs measure 7 x 9 inches and are in excellent condition with no bends, tears, or creases and are very sharp and have strong tones with good contrast and clarity.
