Upset by lyrics, Megan Thee Stallion tells Drake, ‘Stop using my shooting for clout’
Megan Thee Stallion takes issue with the use of her shooting for clout, and feels that Drake is using his fame as an artist to further his own agenda.
The rapper Drake and Megan Thee Stallion came to blows back in April when Drake posted a photoshopped image to Instagram without her consent, showing the rapper with his hand over Megan’s face. Drake then called out Megan for supporting her husband over her, saying that she was using her singing to “sow division” in the public eye. It was later reported that Megan was upset and that she did not want to come to the U.S., and was set to leave with her children. Things were later clarified, and Megan said that she was not upset and that she did not leave her sons. She also stated that she didn’t support Drake, but instead helped him “get to a point that he can actually have success.”
Later that month, on June 18, Drake and Megan clashed again as Drake posted a photo of his face on the U.S.S. Phoebe (Wolverine’s ship) in space, without a caption or comment. In response, Megan wrote a lengthy rant on Instagram, saying she feels Drake is using her shooting for clout and that he should not be allowed to have a hit record.
On Monday (June 23), Drake tweeted that Megan should “get over” and that she didn’t need to keep coming back to him in the future. It’s not the most diplomatic of tweets, but it’s still an honest one, telling Megan that he still wants to hear her sing and that he still wants to hear her sing.
